Soda Creek

Deschutes County, Oregon

Deschutes National Forest

Fees: NW Forest Pass & Central Cascades Wilderness Permit

Activity: hiking

Elevation: 5440'-6725'

Current status (as of 8/16/25): past peak

Notes: You need a Central Cascades Wilderness Permit to start your hike from the Soda Creek Trailhead. Unfortunately, this is also the trailhead for Green Lakes and South Sister, so it's a very difficult permit to get. If you can arrange a car or bike shuttle (or don't mind hitchhiking 3 miles), you can start from Todd Lake and finish your hike at the Soda Creek/Green Lakes Trailhead.

Peak wildflower bloom at Soda Creek is typically from late June through July into early August, but there may be some flowers blooming from early June until the end of August.*
