Silver Star Mountain

Skamania County, Washington

Yacolt Burn State Forest & Gifford Pinchot National Forest

Fees: WA Discover Pass (at south trailhead)

Activity: hiking

Elevation: 2385'-4374'

Current status (as of 6/8/23): not blooming

Peak wildflower bloom on Silver Star Mountain is typically from early June through the end of July, but there may be some flowers blooming from mid-May until mid-August.* (In 2023, things are running later than usual.)

Typical year:

One of the best and most accessible wildflower displays in the entire Pacific Northwest. However, the northern trailhead's road has gotten so bad that only high-clearance vehicles should attempt it. The southern trailhead requires a Washington Discover Pass.

Featured plants: Hedysarum occidentale
