Oregon Badlands

Deschutes County, Oregon

Bureau of Land Management

Fees: none

Activity: hiking

Elevation: 3530'-3637'

Current status (as of 4/20/24): early blooms

Notes: With the exception of Flatiron Rock, Badlands Rock, The Castle, and South Wall, the terrain is pretty much the same just about everywhere: lava, sand, lava pressure ridges, and more lava. If you've got a GPS (or a phone with GPS), you don't really need trails here. Just make your own loop, as long or as short as you want.

Peak wildflower bloom at Oregon Badlands is typically from early May through the end of June, but there may be some flowers blooming from mid-April until mid-July.*
