Jefferson Park

Marion County, Oregon

Willamette National Forest

Fees: NW Forest Pass

Activity: hiking

Elevation: 4115'-5900'

Current status (as of 6/24/24): blooming

Notes: There are four trailheads you can use to get into Jefferson Park: the Whitewater Trailhead (shown in the map on this page) is easy to access and a relatively easy hike; Breitenbush Lake is by far the most scenic but lies at the end of a truly horrible road; South Breitenbush is a nice change of pace but the trail is very rocky; and Woodpecker Ridge is a little longer but less crowded.

As of 2024, the Whitewater and South Breitenbush Trailheads are still closed due to the 2020 fires. If you don't have a 4x4, use the Woodpecker Ridge Trail.

Peak wildflower bloom at Jefferson Park is typically from late June through July into late August, but there may be some flowers blooming from early June until early September.*
