Castle Rock

Lane County, Oregon

Willamette National Forest

Fees: none

Activity: hiking

Elevation: 3162'-3808'

Current status (as of 4/23/24): not blooming

Notes: From westerncascades.com: "This is a great place to go while you wait for the higher mountains to start flowering. Although it is a very short hike and at a relatively low elevation, it feels like you are much higher in the mountains because of the serious cliffs below the summit and the wonderful view. It’s an excellent place to look for rock ferns including the uncommon Woodsia scopulina."

Peak wildflower bloom at Castle Rock is typically from mid-May through June into mid-July, but there may be some flowers blooming from early May until the end of July.*
