Discussion

Variety leucanthus includes two distinct sympatric races: one with lanceolate leaflets (= L. leucanthus), and one with linear leaflets (= L. arizonicus Britton).

Variety bijugatus, which is found from southern British Columbia to eastern Washington, northern Idaho, and western Montana, includes two distinct sympatric races: one with lanceolate leaflets (= L. bijugatus var. bijugatus in the sense of White), and one with linear leaflets (= L. bijugatus var. sandbergii).
