Grasslands, beaches, riverbanks, sandbars, roadsides, disturbed areas. Flowering May–Aug. 0–1300 m. CR, ECas, Est, Owy, Sisk, WV. CA, ID, WA; north to British Columbia, south to Mexico. Native.
