Disturbed areas, fields, pastures. Flowering May–Oct. 0–300 m. Est, WV. CA, WA; north to British Columbia, eastern Canada and US, southern US; nearly worldwide. Exotic.

Slopes, roadsides, fields, riverbanks, pastures, disturbed areas. Flowering Apr–Jun. 50–1400 m. BW, Col, ECas, Lava, Owy, Sisk, WV. CA, ID, NV, WA; Mountain and Pacific states, east into IA and south into TX; throughout midwestern and western Canada and US; Asia, Europe, South America. Exotic.
