Leaves

basal leaves linear, 5–10 cm long, glaucous;

margins revolute, withering.

basal leaves to 30 cm long, with short hairs in lines on adaxial surface, persistent.

Inflorescences

1–2-flowered.

1–5-flowered.

Flowers

sepals lanceolate, 40–50 mm long;

petals obovate, 40–60 mm long, white to pink or purple, with a chevron or crescent or not; lower 33% of inner petal with yellow scattered hairs; outer petal surface with distinct green band;

nectary depressed, triangular;

filaments 8–9 mm long;

anthers to 10 mm long, pink to light purple.

sepals to 25 mm long;

petals to 25 mm long, densely covered with long simple white hairs approximately 50% way to nectary where hairs become yellow;

margins somewhat fringed;

petal claw with fine penciling/spots (nectary guides);

nectary lunate, crested with branching hairs;

filaments to 7 mm long;

anthers 3–7 mm long; reddish brown, apiculate.

Fruits

erect; lance-linear, 5–10 mm wide.

nodding, 3–4 × approximately 1.5 cm, with a long recurved tip approximately 4 mm, 3 winged.

Seeds

wafer-like; straw-colored.

light straw-yellow.
