Discussion

Coniferous woods, disturbed areas. Flowering Jun–Oct. 0–1200 m. BW, WV. ID, WA; scattered in northern North America; Europe. Exotic.

Shrublands, meadows, moist swales, edges and dry beds of streams. Flowering Jun–Jul. 1400–2000 m. Owy. ID, NV. Native.

Artemisia papposa is unique among Artemisia in having fruits with minute pappi.
