Discussion | Trifolium macrocephalum has the largest inflorescences of any clover. Trifolium megacephalum Nuttall (1818) is an illegitimate replacement name for Lupinaster macrocephalum Pursh. (Discussion copyrighted by Flora of North America; reprinted with permission.) |
Trifolium barnebyi is known from central Wyoming. It was originally described as a variety of T. haydenii, but was elevated to species rank based on its pubescent petioles, pedicels, and peduncles, closely spaced leaflet veins, and more elongate leaflets that are two times as long as wide.
