Habit Perennials, 15–30+ cm; taprooted (caudices erect) or rhizomatous (rhizomes branched). Perennials, 5–10 cm; ± rhizomatous (bases loosely branched, elongated, horizontal to ascending).
Stems

usually 1, rarely 2–3, clustered, irregularly arachnoid-tomentose to lanate-tomentose or glabrescent.

Discussion

Of conservation concern.

Packera ionophylla is known only from the San Bernardino, San Gabriel, and Tehachapi mountains and a population on Alamo Mountain in eastern Ventura County.

Of conservation concern.

Packera musiniensis is a high-elevation dwarf species; its affinities within Packera are still uncertain. Welsh believed it to be allied to P. cana or P. multilobata, or both.
