Burke's lupine, large-leaf lupine, many-leaf lupine

Habit Herbs 5.5–12 dm, caudex branched, subterranean.
Stems

erect, often hollow, coarse.

Leaflets

(5–)7–11, largest blade 35–100 mm, surfaces abaxially sometimes sparsely hairy, adaxially glabrous.

Flowers

upper keel margins glabrous, rarely ciliolate.

Discussion

Variety burkei is known from southern British Columbia southward to the Transverse Ranges in southern California and eastward to western Montana and northwestern Wyoming.
