Discussion | Varieties 3 (2 in the flora). The report of 2n = 10 for Lomatogonium rotatum from the Manitoba shore of Hudson Bay by Á. Löve and D. Löve (1982b) is in accord with their earlier reports for this species in Iceland (Löve and Löve 1956; D. Löve 1953). More recently, however, 2n = 16 has been reported for L. rotatum in Iceland by Löve and Löve (1986) and in China by Yuan Y. M. and P. Küpfer (1993). No counts have been reported for var. fontanum. Reports of 2n = 10 for this species in any part of its range should be considered questionable. (Discussion copyrighted by Flora of North America; reprinted with permission.) |
