Discussion | Hypericum adpressum is more herbaceous and rhizomatous than H. sphaerocarpum and has narrower capsules and smaller seeds. The plants with aerenchymatous tissue in the rhizome (var. spongiosum) are not taxonomically distinct but merely the result of a habitat-induced modification.
