Eriogonum wootonii is known only from the San Francisco Mountains of Lincoln and Otero counties in southern New Mexico. It is related to, but significantly disjunct from, E. arcuatum, and is part of a three-species complex that includes E. correllii of northern Texas and E. allenii of Virginia and West Virginia, and that skips across the central United States, the result of fragmentation associated with the southward push of Pleistocene glaciation. Of conservation concern. Eriogonum viscidulum is a rare and localized species known from a few locations in Clark County, Nevada, and adjacent Mohave County, Arizona. Its range extends from the Muddy River near Weiser Wash to the confluence with the Virgin River, and from Sandy Hollow Wash to Middle Point on the Colorado River. It is listed for protection by the state of Nevada and is considered a “sensitive” species by the Bureau of Land Management and the Nevada Heritage Program.
