Varieties 2 (2 in the flora). (Discussion copyrighted by Flora of North America; reprinted with permission.) |
Of conservation concern. Eriogonum mohavense is typically local and infrequent, and only rarely locally common. It is restricted to the northwestern corner of the Mojave Desert in southeastern Kern, northeastern Los Angeles, and northwestern San Bernardino counties. It occurs also just inside Inyo County. An 1882 C. C. Parry collection (NY) supposedly from San Diego is discounted as to location. (Discussion copyrighted by Flora of North America; reprinted with permission.) |
1. Flowers 5-9 mm, perianth cream, rarely yellow; achenes (5-)5.5-8 mm; North Coast Ranges, Siskiyou and Trinity counties | var. erubescens |
1. Flowers 4-6 mm, perianth pale yellow or rarely yellow; achenes 3-3.5 mm; n Sierra Nevada, Lassen and Shasta counties to Nevada, Placer, Plumas, and Sierra counties | var. ursinum |
