Eriogonum gracillimum is found in the Coast, Transverse, and scattered mountain desert ranges in Fresno, Inyo, Kern, Kings, Los Angeles, Madera, Merced, Monterey, Riverside, San Benito, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Tulare counties. The species is often common and occasionally even weedy. (Discussion copyrighted by Flora of North America; reprinted with permission.) |
Eriogonum ericifolium is rare and localized, known only from the Verde River Valley of Yavapai County. The species is distinctive, yet some plants appear to approach E. microthecum var. simpsonii. The heather-leaf wild buckwheat is considered a “sensitive” species in Arizona and a candidate for federal protection. (Discussion copyrighted by Flora of North America; reprinted with permission.) |
