Discussion | Species 9 (1 in the flora). The results obtained by G. J. Allan and J. M. Porter (2000) indicate that Coronilla, as circumscribed by P. Lassen (1989), may be polyphyletic. See under 119. Securigera for discussion of the circumscription of Coronilla. Coronilla scorpioides has been reported from Massachusetts and Ohio, probably introduced with pasture seed imported from southern Europe or farther north; the records are old, and the species does not appear to have persisted. A report from Connecticut was based on a misidentified specimen. (Discussion copyrighted by Flora of North America; reprinted with permission.) |
