sepals oblong-ovate, 3–4 mm, margins scarious, surfaces hairy;

corolla white, tinged or striped with blue or pink, campanulate, 4–6 mm, limb 5-lobed 1/3–1/2 length.

Subspecies 2 (1 in the flora).

Subspecies montevidensis (Sprengel) J. R. I. Wood & Scotland is known from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
