Discussion

Subspecies gracilis is found throughout most of northern California below 1500 m, and is more scattered in western Oregon and Washington.

Subspecies sonomensis is restricted to the North Coast Ranges of California in Colusa, Humboldt, Lake, Marin, Mendocino, Napa, and Sonoma counties, and of southern Oregon in Douglas and Josephine counties.
