Discussion

Subspecies 2 (2 in the flora).

Plants of Calystegia catesbeiana, especially subsp. catesbeiana, often have been misidentified as C. sepium because of their climbing habit.

Calystegia hederacea is easily recognized by its usually procumbent habit, ivylike leaves, and relatively small bracts and flowers.
