Discussion | Brodiaea jolonensis grows along the southern coast of California as well as on Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa, and Santa Catalina islands. T. F. Niehaus (1971) was impressed by the distinctive flavonoid chemistry of this plant compared to that of other members of the genus. Subspecies 2 (2 in the flora). Most of the plants that W. L. Jepson (1923–1925) placed under this name have been transferred to Brodiaea elegans (T. F. Niehaus 1971, 1980). (Discussion copyrighted by Flora of North America; reprinted with permission.) |
