Habit Shrubs, 30–150 cm. Perennials, 30–50 cm (caudices woody).

outer ovate (lengths evenly grading to inner, margins ciliate, faces pubescent, often gland-dotted), inner narrowly lanceolate to linear-oblong (faces glabrous).
