Discussion

Variety shockleyi is known from Lyon and Mineral counties, western Nevada, to Inyo and Mono counties in eastern California.

Variety serenoi occurs from northcentral Humboldt County southward to Churchill and adjacent Lander and northwestern Nye counties.
