Discussion | Variety cremnophylax is restricted to the North and South rims of the Grand Canyon. S. E. Travis et al. (1996) found genetic variation between plants in populations (one very low in a small South Rim population) and comparatively substantial variation between populations. Greater genetic variation occurred in the North Rim plants, which constitute the largest population. Variety cremnophylax is in the Center for Plant Conservation’s National Collection of Endangered Plants. (Discussion copyrighted by Flora of North America; reprinted with permission.) |
Variety hevronii is known only from the eastern rim of Marble Canyon along the Colorado River. (Discussion copyrighted by Flora of North America; reprinted with permission.) |
