Aleutian cress, Eschscholtz's aphragmus, Eschscholtz's little nightmare

Stems

2–6 cm; glabrous or sparsely puberulent, trichomes simple.

Basal leaves

petiole 0.5–3 cm (base persistent, papery, broadly expanded, narrowly triangular, 0.2–0.4 cm wide);

blade (subfleshy), spatulate, oblanceolate, or ovate, 0.5–1.2 cm × 2–4 mm, base cuneate to attenuate, apex obtuse, surfaces glabrous or puberulent.

Cauline leaves

(bracts), sessile;

blade similar to basal, narrower, smaller distally.

subumbellate.

Flowers

sepals often purplish, 1.5–2 × 0.7–1 mm, glabrous;

petals purple with darker veins, 2–3 × 1–2 mm;

Fruits
