Habitat Sea level to open meadows and forested areas in the mountains, always where moist. Openings in rich, mesic, generally old-growth coniferous forest.
Distribution
Occurring on both sides of the Cascades crest in Washington; Alaska to California, east across most of North America to the Atlantic Coast.
