Habit | Perennial from a taproot and branching base, up to 1.2 dm. tall, the several leafless flowering stems lax. |
Leaves | Leaves clustered toward the bottom of the flowering stems, succulent, densely glandular, oblanceolate, coarsely toothed or lobed, up to about 6 cm. long. |
Flowers | Heads solitary, the disk 1.5-3 cm. wide; involucre 10-15 mm. high, finely glandular, the bracts lance-oblong, up to 4 mm. wide; rays about 21, 7-15 mm. long, yellow and pistillate; disk flowers yellow and perfect; pappus of several translucent scales, attached in a ring at the base, lacerate, about 2 mm. long. |
