Leaves | Leaves alternate, viscid-villous, the lower ones linear-lanceolate, entire; upper leaves broader, with 1-3 pair of divergent lobes above the middle; bracts broader than the leaves, oblong, obtuse, entire or with 1-2 pairs of short lateral lobes, pale yellow or purplish. |

Flowers | Inflorescence straight and upright, elongate, the flowers remote and hidden by the overlapping bracts; calyx 20-30 mm. long, deeply and equally cleft above and below, its primary lobes broad and rounded, usually entire; corolla about equal to the calyx, its lower lip prominent, the upper lip densely glandular-puberulent; stamens 4; ovary superior. |
