Boechera polyantha

Habit Short-lived perennials, from a crown not woody and unbranched; stems 25-90 cm tall, pubescence dense near base with short-stalked trichomes, 2-6-rayed, to 0.7 mm, pubescence similar towards ends of stems.
Leaves

Leaves basal and cauline;

basal leaves oblanceolate, 1.5-7 mm broad, margins entire or shallowly toothed, ciliate at petiole base with 0.9 mm trichomes, densely pubescent above and beneath, 5- to10-rayed trichomes on short-stalks and up to 0.9 mm;

cauline leaves 16-42, hiding the stem near base, lobe-like appendages at base 0.5-1.5 mm, surfaces pubescent towards ends of stems.

Flowers

Inflorescence usually 17-96-flowered, typically unbranched racemes; fruiting pedicels bent downward abruptly at base but otherwise not curved, 7-13 mm, pubescent with trichomes appressed and branched, occasionally slightly secund;

flowers descending;

sepals 4, pubescent;

petals 4, white, 6-9 mm long and 1-2.5 mm broad, slightly pubescent beneath;

pollen ellipsoid.

Fruits

Siliques 3.5-7.2 cm long and 1.2-1.5 mm broad, strongly curving downward, appressed to rachis, not curved, edges parallel;

valves densely pubescent;

seeds in 1 series, 0.9-1.2 mm long and 0.7-1 mm broad, with a continuous wing to 0.1 mm broad.
