Discussion

Dry open areas. Flowering Apr–Jul. 0–1800 m. Casc, CR, Sisk, WV. CA. Native.

Plants with white flowers are found in Curry County and are sometimes recognized as a distinct taxon (T. hendersonii var. leachiae).

Western North America. 15 species; 7 species treated in Flora.

Triteleia, as a genus, has quite likely been subjected to over-splitting, with local morphological variants described as distinct taxa. Most species are separated by an often confusing combination of flower color and stamen morphology. Here, we conservatively and tentatively present the taxa most often listed as occurring in Oregon. Triteleia peduncularis has been collected once, in Jackson County. If encountered again, it can be distinguished from other Triteleia species by its long ascending pedicels, yellow ovary, and white flowers.
