Dry slopes, conifer forests. Flowering Jun–Jul. 2000–2300 m. Sisk. CA. Native.

Meadows. Flowering May–Aug. 800–1100 m. Casc. WA. Native.

In Oregon, this species is currently known only from a relatively narrow geographic region in eastern Multnomah County.
