Distribution | ||
Discussion | Asia, North America. 3 subspecies; 2 subspecies treated in Flora. |
Moist forests, bogs, streambanks. Flowering Jun–Aug. 0–1900 m. BR, BW, Casc, Est, WV. CA, ID, NV, WA; north to AK, east to Newfoundland, southeast to NM; Asia. Native. The range of P. a. ssp. bracteata overlaps completely with that of P. a. ssp. asarifolia. Whether the slight morphological differences between these two subspecies are environmentally induced may be worthy of future research. |
