Distribution | ||
Discussion | Rocky areas, meadows, open slopes, sagebrush, open forests. Flowering Apr–Sep. 0–2600 m. BR, BW, Casc, Col, ECas, Lava, Owy, Sisk, WV. CA, ID, NV, WA; north to British Columbia, northeast to MT, southeast to UT. Native. This species hybridizes with L. oreganus, L. albicaulis, and potentially other broadly sympatric, perennial lupines. |
Dunes, sandy areas. Flowering Apr–Jul. 0–300 m. Est, WV. CA, WA; north to British Columbia. Native and exotic. While usually occurring near the ocean, Lupinus arboreus is occasionally found further inland, often as an ornamental plant in parking lot vegetation strips. This species appears to be expanding its range northward. It may occasionally hybridize with L. littoralis. |
