margins usually pinnately toothed or lobed, rarely entire;

tips acute;

surfaces usually somewhat woolly, sessile or petiolate.

Inflorescences

raceme- or panicle-like arrays, or heads solitary.

Involucres

campanulate or hemispheric, 3–12+ mm in diameter.

Receptacles

flat to columnar;

paleae 0.

Ray florets

pistillate, fertile;

rays slightly to well exceeding involucres, bright yellow, rarely white or pale yellow;

lobes distinct to minute or absent.

Disc florets

bisexual;

corollas tubular, narrowed in lower half, exceeding involucres, yellow, puberulent;

lobes 5, triangular; erect or spreading;

stamens slightly exserted;
