[Species with one variety or subspecies in Oregon.] |
Moist forests, aspen groves, bogs, swamps, often on small hummocks in forested wetlands, often growing in a moss layer, usually in shade. 800–2400 m. BR, BW, Casc, ECas, Sisk. CA, ID, NV, WA; north to AK, east to Greenland, southeast to NM; Eurasia. Native. The problem with this delicate sedge is seeing it, not identifying it once it’s found. The almost thread-like culms with widely separated clusters of egg-shaped, brown perigynia are unique. |
